About the Program

Over the course of a summer, KPCB Design and Engineering Fellows join our portfolio companies, where they develop their technical or design skills and are mentored by an executive within the company. Participants in our new Product Fellows program will get the chance to spend a full year working at a Silicon Valley startup.

Fellows will also be invited to attend both private events held by KPCB as well as by our portfolio companies, where they can meet other talented engineering and design students, network with luminaries in their respective fields, and explore the San Francisco Bay Area.

We’re honored to be named one of the Best Overall Programs by Vault. See what people are saying about the program on Glassdoor.

Our Values

This is more than just a program. We are a community of individuals dedicated to building a brighter future for our industry and the Silicon Valley. For our five-year anniversary, we brought together Fellows from the past and present to codify a set of values that define who we are, how we operate, and what we aspire to. These are our values:

1. We strive for impact:

We are missionaries intent on building and working on technologies, products, and companies that will help people and make a meaningful difference in the world that we live in.

2. We push boundaries:

We are passionate about living on the bleeding edge and endeavor to be entrepreneurial, take risks, and shoot for what is beyond our reach. Problems aren’t hard to come by, but tenacity and boldness to go after tough problems is.

3. We're lifelong learners:

Whether we are just starting our careers or leaving them, we will always be learners. For us, education, whether formal or informal, is a gift that unlocks potential. There are no limits to our eagerness to explore, adventure, wonder, tinker, and make.

4. We're authentic:

We seek the truth and move past surface level conversations, trends and what is popular. We push for depth and sweat the details to find what is truly important.

5. We pay it forward:

We recognize our incredible opportunity. We stand on the shoulders of those before us and it is our responsibility to invest our time and resources in building a better future.

6. We're a family:

The #KPCBFamily is more than just a community, it spans beyond companies, schools, disciplines, locations and traditional networks. We put ourselves in the shoes of others and do our best to gain perspective and create mutual respect. We are lifelong friends who grow and learn together.
